Life

The last few weeks in the market have been full of emotions and now that Ben has spoken, we have Irene to focus on as it approaches the East coast. I’m hopeful that the damage will be minimal and life can move on come Monday. Seems, as Brian Shannon points out, that the markets have a way of getting in the way of life. For so many of us the markets are what we know and thus consume us at times.

To that point, things here in Texas are bad, real bad, and something needs to happen soon. So, if you believe in a higher power then take some time to offer up a prayer or two for the East coast, Texas, and others that may be in greater need than we. I know I am thankful for what I have, cherish my family and friends and appreciate the opportunities I’ve had over the years to grow. I wouldn’t change much in my life and feel blessed.

Take some time this weekend and do a personal inventory of priorities, both short-term and long-term and sit with it for a few days. Hopefully you like what you’ve become and where you are. If not, do something about it. Reach out to others for help or to help if needed. Service is a beautiful thing.

Wise words Darren, and sentiments too rare. You know what? I’m out for the week too, in favor of a midnight walk on an Asian beach.
