Ah yes, it’s option expiration week. Hated by so many as a time of market manipulation yet also a time that many get paid, such as myself. Whether or not you believe in option shenanigans during opex is irrelevant. What matters is that you have a trading plan for the week. Perhaps you don’t trade during opex or perhaps you focus on pinning with butterflies. Here’s what I’m looking at for the week ahead.

No due diligence done on these beyond a technical scan so I have no idea on the earnings dates or other catalysts. Now that I have my potential candidates for the week ahead I dive into the option chains to see what’s brewing. The technical patterns met my criteria so if I can confirm direction with activity in the chains I have the odds in my favor if my entry criteria is met to move from uncertainty to risk.
